Spring Cleaning Fever
Sunday 15 March 2015 — Category: Equipment
Spring fever is in the air, and I’ve been infected! I woke up yesterday morning, and a passion for photographic spring cleaning suddenly possessed me!
As I wrote in My Final Verdict on Prime-Lens-Only Photography, I pretty much wasted nearly $2,500 on four primes lenses that, for the most part, I don’t use, I don’t need and I don’t want. At the time, I figured I might as well hang on to those lenses since I already owned them, because I probably would not recoup even half of that amount if I tried to sell them.
But then I saw things in a different light. If I could make $1,000 to $1,500 by selling equipment that is just sitting here not being used, that’s a lot better than nothing! Yesterday morning I went through all of my photography gear, and found eight pieces of Olympus equipment which I really don’t need any more. Therefore it has all been listed online for sale. Here’s the complete listing.
UPDATE — 17 MAY 2016: All of the equipment I listed on Amazon sold pretty quickly — within two weeks. It wasn’t until 14 months later that I finally sold the 75mm lens on Craigslist. At long last I finally have closure! In the end I was able to recoop $1,800 by selling this equipment that I originally paid a total of $3,155 for. Well, at least that’s a bit more than half.
