Autumn Sunrise Sunflower
Saturday 4 October 2014   —   Category: Shooting
It’s been a number of weeks since I have taken any photos on my daily neighborhood walk — September was entirely pictureless. I guess there was nothing photo-worthy. Or else I simply wasn’t in a photographic mood. Or perhaps both.

Either way, I don’t take pictures because I HAVE to, but only when I WANT to. If the photographic spirit doesn’t inspire me, I don’t try to slog my way through. As I discovered two Octobers ago, forced creative vision leaves me stifled and suffocated.

On my walk early this morning, my attention was captured by this sunflower glowing in the golden light of the newly-risen Autumn sun, with the background still in shadows. That definitely looked photo-worthy, so I snapped a few shots. As usual, you can click on the photo to see a larger version.

Like this sunflower, may we always keep our faces turned towards The Sun!
