This Beavers Fan Is a Real Doll!
Wednesday 16 July 2014   —   Category: Shooting

Each year my now-twelve-year-old daughter, Olivia, makes some arts and crafts to enter into the kids' exhibit competitions at the Linn County Fair in Albany, Oregon. Over the years she has won quite a few prizes.

As you can see from the photo, this time around she made a knitted sweater, messenger bag and booties, as well as a sewn skirt and headband, for a porcelain doll, named Heidi, which her grandma had given Olivia.

On the day she was to be taken to the fair, I noticed the decked-out doll sitting in this blue chair. The cuteness of the doll, and the contrast between the blue chair and the orange sweater and booties, inspired me to take a picture before she headed out. As usual, you can click on the photo to see a larger version.

One thing is for sure — this Beavers fan is a real doll!
UPDATE:
I’m happy to inform you that Olivia and Heidi made out very, very well at the fair. For her excellent work knitting and sewing this outfit for Heidi, Olivia won a “Champion” award in the youth knitting category! WOW! That’s quite and achievement and honor! She also won numerous other awards for her other entries. Congratulations, Olivia!
