Of Mushrooms and the Kitchen Lamp
Tuesday 1 July 2014   —   Category: Shooting

As I was making a cup of tea in the kitchen early this morning, I noticed that the rising sun was illuminating the lamp hanging from the ceiling. It was glowing almost as if the light switch had been turned on!

Because I was just about to go on my daily neighborhood walk, I had my handy-dandy pocket camera in its case hanging from my belt. Taking it out, I got a number of shots from a few different angles. I even took some pictures with the camera directly under the lamp, pointing straight up at it. Because of the island under the lamp, this was quite difficult, because I could not see the LCD screen on the back of the camera. You can see the resulting photo here.

Then, while on my walk, I saw these unusual mushrooms in the neighborhood park. Setting my camera to macro mode, I squatted down, held the camera close to the mushrooms, and took a few shots. I’m quite happy with how these photos turned out.

As usual, you can click on the pictures here to see larger versions.
