Neighborhood Photo Outings
Saturday 29 October 2011   —   Category: Shooting
Almost everyday (Oregon weather permitting!) I go for a mile-and-a-half walk around the neighborhood. In keeping with my current theme of finding photographic opportunities closer to home, I decided recently to take my camera with me on my walk, on two different days, just to see if anything would catch my photographic eye. I was surprised by how many scenes did grab my attention.

I walk by the same houses, day after day, month after month, year after year. I look, but do I really see? Apparently not, because once I had it in my mind to look for possible pictures, I started to see everything in a new light. Suddenly, there were all sorts of interesting shapes, colors and compositions! Why don’t you give it a try yourself, and see what you can come up with?

You can see all the photos from these two walks, plus a number of earlier pictures, in the Neighborhood 2011 photo album.
