Rainbow Creek: The Last Album of Photos From 2012
Sunday 24 March 2013 — Category: Outings
Whew! A whole six months after my September 2012 trip to Lake Chelan, Washington, I have finally finished processing the last batch of photos from that trip. Better late than never!
During my stay at the remote northern end of the lake, I went for two hikes in the Stehekin area. On my first full day there, I hiked through the Agnes Gorge. On my second full day, I once again took the first Stehekin Valley shuttle bus of the day up the Stehekin Valley about five miles from Stehekin to the northern Rainbow Loop Trailhead.
Following the trail, I hiked about four-and-a-half miles, gaining and then loosing about 1,000 feet in elevation. After some hours I arrived at the southern trailhead, from which I followed the main road north to Rainbow Falls. Mid-afternoon I caught the bus back to the lodge in Stehekin.
I have already written quite a bit about my outing that day, so I won’t repeat it here. You can get all the details by checking out The Chelan Chronicles, Part III of IV. This album — Rainbow Creek 2012 — is the last of eight from my Lake Chelan trip photos. Out of the 380 pictures I took during the hike, I have selected the best 80 for your viewing pleasure. At last I can lay 2012 to rest, and turn my attention to 2013!
