Exploring the Urban Jungle
Tuesday 17 July 2012 — Category: Outings
Portland, the largest city in Oregon. I finally made an impromptu visit downtown, after my third trip to Pro Photo Supply in a period of three weeks.
This was the first outing on which I have taken my new Olympus OM-D E-M5 camera. After browsing the wares at The Real Mother Goose — Occupy Portland would NOT approve! — my wife and I explored the city blocks between Yamhill & 9th and Main & 5th.
There are a lot of interesting things to see in the big city. William Sullivan — Oregon’s “hiker laureate” — even covers a few metro-area outings in his 100 Hikes in Northwest Oregon & Southwest Washington.
Big spenders that we are, we treated ourselves to an ice cream cone and coffe at McDonalds. During our ramble, I took the first five photos in the Portland Miscellaneous 2012-2013 photo album. I’m hoping to make another trip or two to Portland later this year in order to photographically explore the city in more depth.
