Sisters-Bend Area 2012 — photo 11 of 13: A panorama (made up of 13 individual photos) of the eastern side of the central Oregon Cascades, as seen from U.S. Route 20, about 15 miles southeast of Bend. When I saw this view, I tried to imagine what the pioneers must have felt like seeing it, after a long trek across Eastern Oregon.
It's quite a spread, from Broken Top and the South Sister on the left, through the other two Sisters, Black Crater, Mount Washington, Santiam Pass, Three Fingered Jack and Black Butte, all the way to Mount Jefferson on the far right!
The smaller, black and white version of the panorama below will help you identify the major peaks. April 2012.
