Oregon City Pub Crawl 2017 — photo 40 of 46: A sample of Brew Hawaii Pale Ale which I tried at the McMenamins West Linn Pub in the southern Portland metro area suburb of West Linn. According to the brewer:
“Sometimes the Oregon weather can be dismal and depressing. Lots of Portlanders have been known to take refuge on the islands of Hawaii. Well, I figured I’d bring the islands to y’all! And what better guide than the King himself? Elvis. Freakin’. Presley. Dreams come true in Brew Hawaii if your dreams include a hoppy, blueberry and pineapple pale ale. The night is young, and so are we, so grab a pint, while the moon is on the sea. Elvis has left the brewpub. Thank ya, thank ya very much.” Measurements: 6.0% ABV • 34 IBUMy notes from that day read: “A so-so beer ... a bit bland, like the other McMenamins fruit beers ... I would not want an entire pint of it.” May 2017. Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Panasonic Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom lens.
