Oregon City 2017 — photo 70 of 117: Standing next to the upper level of the 130-foot Oregon City Municipal Elevator located in downtown Oregon City, at the southern end of the Portland metro area — the only outdoor municipal elevator in the U.S. and one of only four in the world. Looking north-northeast over the city center towards the Abernethy Bridge which carries I-205 across the Willamette River. In the far distance, just to the left of the nearer mountains, you can barely make out the top of the 8,363-foot Mount St. Helens 61 miles away. At the right edge of the photo you can also spot the top of the 12,281-foot Mount Adams 79 miles to the northwest. May 2017. Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Panasonic Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom lens.
