McMenamins St. Francis Interiors 2017 — photo 34 of 62: “Hoppity Troppity” by McMenamins artist Sheri Foster is one of many works of art gracing the walls of their Old St. Francis School in downtown Bend, Oregon. May 2017. About this painting Sheri wrote:
The inspiration for this painting came after a vacation in Hawaii. My partner Curtis and I were snuggled in bed, looking out the window on a cold, wintery Bend morning. I was musing over what to paint for McMenamins. I couldn’t decide what to paint ... maybe a scene with the Three Sisters in the background ... or something. Curtis said, “You love Hawaii, why not paint a warm, tropical scene, with the sun, beach, blue skies, tropical flowers and hops all around. You could call it ... Hoppity Troppity.” I said, “That’s perfect ... that’s what I’ll do!” And so I did.Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Panasonic Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom lens.
In the painting I included my favorite McMenamins icons: the Sun, Ruby, and of course, Hammerhead, doing what I love doing the most, playing ukulele. Thank you, Curtis, for the inspiration!
