Astoria Oregon 2017 — photo 51 of 52: Looking across the Columbia River pretty much due east from the observation deck of the historic (built 1926) 125-​foot Astoria Column, the highest point in Astoria, Oregon. Eighty miles away is the 8,365-foot (formerly 9,677-foot) Mount St. Helens. Just peeking over the intervening mountains on the right is the 12,281-foot Mount Adams, 113 miles away. January 2017.
