Best of Food & Cooking 2016 — photo 38 of 50: My very first elk burger was one of the best burgers I have ever tasted! I enjoyed it on the patio of McMenamins North Bank in Eugene, Oregon. According to the menu, it consisted of an elk patty, Gruyère cheese, Black Rabbit Red Wine aioli, organic greens, tomato and red onion on a bun. The current version uses white cheddar instead of Gruyère and adds coffee-bacon jam. I’m not sure about that jam, but perhaps I’ll give it a try. August 2016. Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Panasonic Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom lens.
