Oregon Pub Crawl 2017 — photo 62 of 71: A pint of Double Mountain Kölsch, from Double Mountain Brewery, which I sipped in Mock Crest Tavern at 3435 North Lombard Street, in the southwest corner of Portland’s Kenton neighborhood. According to the brewer:
“This unfiltered ale features a unique yeast strain, providing restrained fruited aromas to complement the rounded malt quality; with a touch more hop character than its counterpart in Cologne. Crisp, dry, and highly refreshing.” Measurements: 5.2% ABV • 40 IBU
My notes from that day read: “It’s OK, but perhaps slightly watery ... well, it’s not too bad ... it doesn’t quite seem IBU 40 ... Occidental Kölsch is better.” May 2017. Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Panasonic Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom lens.
