Pheasant Run Winery 2017 — photo 6 of 11: The wine which was paired with the third-​course food (see previous photo) was Pheasant Run’s ‘Hot Rocks’ Pinot Noir. During the five-course wine pairing dinner, the winemaker, Carl McKnight, said that the peppery, earthy and spicy qualities of this wine paired well with the spice on the meat and in the other ingredients. My taste buds definitely agreed!

This special pairing dinner was cosponsored by Arrowhead Golf Club in Liberal on Oregon Route 213, whose Legend’s Bar and Grill provided the dining room and the food.
