McMenamins Beer (All Years) — photo 79 of 140: A sample of My Mind Is Ramblin’ Double IPA I tried at the McMenamins Old Church and Pub, located in the southern Portland metro area city of Wilsonville, Oregon. According to the brewer:
“This beer might make your mind ramble a bit. Using Citra, Amarillo and Meridian hops in the boil, and dry-hopping with the same combination, we’ve acquired hints of grapefruit, lemon, mixed berries and melon. The addition of Caramel Munich Malt brings a rich orange color to the beer, with a nice malty flavor that helps balance the big hop flavor in this Imperial IPA.” Measurements: 8.6% ABV • 66 IBUMy notes from that day read: “Tried a sample. Not so great ... too hoppy or fruity or bready or sweet or something ... I couldn’t quite identify it.” March 2018. Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Olympus 12-100mm f/4.0 zoom lens.
