McMenamins Beer (All Years) — photo 10 of 128: A pint of Behind the Sun ISA which I enjoyed at the McMenamins Old Church and Pub, located in the southern Portland metro area city of Wilsonville, Oregon. According to the brewer:
“The sun is shining somewhere and what better way to enjoy it than with this ISA. Using Ekuanot hops early in the boil contributed a nice tropical papaya flavor, then flavors and aromas of citrus, pine and tropical fruit were imparted by small amounts of Citra and Simcoe hops in the boil and a dry-hopping with Citra and Simcoe hops. Take a few moments to enjoy what’s behind the sun!” Measurements: 5.3% ABV • 29 IBUMy notes from that day read: “Based on the description, I’m surprised I like this ... it’s is pretty good ... nice balance, not too strong ... I would get it again.” March 2018. Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Olympus 12-100mm f/4.0 zoom lens.
