Square Images 2017 — photo 1 of 42: A sample of Atonement Amber Ale I tried at the McMenamins Old Church and Pub, located in the southern Portland metro area city of Wilsonville, Oregon. According to the brewer:
“This tasty creation displays an impeccable balance of citrus hop character and rich malty goodness. Beneath its off-white head hides a complex world of flavor where hops and malt live in perfect harmony. A medium malt body gives the beer a backbone without overshadowing its delicate hop aromas. Great paired with food or by itself, this amber ale is a great option for those looking for something rich, flavorful and balanced.” Measurements: 5.2% ABV • 40 IBUThe first time I tried this was in October 2016, but I forgot to take a picture. Ten months later I ordered it again just so I could take a photo of it! My notes from those days read: “It’s OK, but not great, a bit hoppy ... I’m not sure if I would get it again. The second time I’m of the same opinion.” August 2017. Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Panasonic Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom lens.
