Black and White 2017 — photo 17 of 32: Looking south-southeast from a turnout on U.S. Route 101, across the road from Mauch’s Sundown RV Park, about half a mile west of the northern end of the impressive four-mile-long Astoria–Megler Bridge, which carries the 101 across the Columbia River bewteen Point Ellice, Washington and Astoria, Oregon. The isolated mountain rising behind Astroia is the 3,288-foot Saddle Mountain, about 21 miles away. I like how the the shape of the cantilever-span section of the bridge is similar to the mountain. January 2017. Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Panasonic Lumix 35-100mm f/2.8 zoom lens.
