Portland Washington/Forest Parks 2016 — photo 1 of 55: No, this isn’t Willy Wonka’s Great Glass Elevator. Rather, it’s the metal elevator at the Washington Park MAX Station, located 260 feet underground beneath the Tualatin Mountains. Portland’s only completely-underground subway station is the deepest in the country, and the fifth-deepest in the world. Impressive! Summer solstice 2016. Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Panasonic Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom lens.
