Portland Bridge Pedal and Stride 2015 — photo 50 of 59: Portland’s first new bridge across the Willamette River in more than 40 years is the 1,700-foot (one-third of a mile) Tilikum Crossing, with its 180-foot pentagonal-shaped stay-cable towers. For the 20th annual Providence Bridge Pedal (and Stride) more than 20,000 participants were routed over the 14-foot-wide path for cyclists and pedestrians on the north side of the bridge, creating such a crush that riders were obliged to walk their bikes across. In the background on the right can be seen the 625-foot, red and white Stonehenge Radio Tower on Sentinel Hill, while on the left are buildings in the South Waterfront district. August 9, 2015. Camera used: Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS50.
