Remote Flash Test Two 2015 — photo 9 of 11: It was a gray, gloomy Oregon morning in my backyard, less than half an hour after sunrise. A bit of the illumination was from what natural light there was under such conditions, but the vast majority of light on these cherry blossoms and buds was from an Olympus FL-600R wireless remote flash, which I was holding in my left hand.
Below is a nearly-identical shot using 100% natural lighting instead of a flash. Both images were adjusted in Adobe Lightroom, with the white balance preset called “Cloudy.” The use of flash lighting transformed an otherwise dull, boring shot into something worth looking at!
Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Panasonic Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom lens.
