Remote Flash Test Two 2015 — photo 7 of 11: It was a gray, gloomy Oregon morning in my backyard, less than half an hour after sunrise. A bit of the illumination was from what natural light there was under such conditions, but the vast majority of the light on these tiny lilac blooms was from an Olympus FL-600R wireless remote flash, which I was holding in my left hand.
Below is a nearly-identical shot using 100% natural lighting instead of a flash. Both images were adjusted in Adobe Lightroom, with the white balance preset called “Daylight.” Each photo has its own unique feel — which one is “better” is a matter of personal opinion. March 2015.
Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Panasonic Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom lens.
