Cape Perpetua 2014 — photo 21 of 22: In this 18-image sequence, I tried to capture the movement of the water as it springs up in Thor's Well and then sinks down again. It was VERY windy that day — so much so that the wind was literally pushing me over! The wind was also blowing a LOT of water spray through the air. Sorry about the water spots on the lens! As you can see, the water of the waves doesn't come OVER the rocks, but from a hole UNDER the rocks. When I was here during a high-surf advisory in January 2012 — see The Quest For Thor's Well — it was way too dangerous to come this close. So I was very happy that I could finally reach the goal of my previous quest! Cape Perpetua Scenic Area on the Oregon Central Coast. July 2014. Camera used: Olympus OM-D E-M5 with Panasonic Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom lens. If the sequence of images is not cycling through, make sure you have Javascript enabled in your browser.
