In January 2017 my wife and I made a two-day trip along Oregon’s North Coast
as part of my McMenamins Passport adventure.
Once we had spent a few hours at our first stop in Astoria,
we traveled south 16 miles down the coast to Gearhart,
where we spent the night at the McMenamins Gearhart Hotel.
We had a great dinner and a questionable breakfast at the on-site Sand Trap Pub.
The next morning we continued south on the 101 on a hundred-mile, seven and a half hour journey down the coast from Gearhart to Lincoln City
— with plenty of stops in between. For all those details, see my article From Astoria to Lincoln City.
We had a dinner of free clam chowder (as a Passport prize) at the McMenamins Lighthouse Brewpub
in Lincoln City. An additional 90 minute drive brought us back home.
I took a total of 93 photos at both of these McMenamins locations. The best 27, including a 19-image panorama, can be viewed in this album.
