Some of my favorite hobbies include exploring Portland photographically and enjoying good food and drink. What better way to combine these two passions than to visit some of the 6,200-plus restaurants in Portland and take pictures of the culinary delights I enjoy there?

More specifically, I enjoy checking out some of the hundreds of pubs in Portland. As of this writing, Beervana is blessed (or cursed, if you are one of those ) to have 74 breweries within the city limits. Mind you, these are not businesses that merely sell beer, but places that actually concoct the stuff, making Portland tops in total breweries and independent microbreweries of any city in the world.

But Portland is not the only place in Oregon where beer is made. Other towns in the state, like Bend, McMinnville, Eugene, and even little Albany where I live, have been getting in on the action, albeit on a much smaller scale. As I happen to visit Oregon brewpubs outside of Portland, I will be documenting them as well, with articles and photos.

According to the Oregon Craft Beer Web site, there are currently more than 194 brewing companies operating more than 234 facilities in 72 cities dotting every region of the state. These breweries are creating thousands of different beers — over 6,700 in Portland alone! Wow! That’s pretty impressive!

When I go on photo outings in Portland, I like to try different beers, and eat a meal or snack, at whatever establishments happen to be in the area I am photographing. As a result, any photos of food, drink or facilities at any brewery, pub or restaurant in Portland (or anywhere else in Oregon) end up sprinkled across many different photo albums from different years.

In order to counteract this scattering, I have created this conglomerate “super-album” which gathers into a single location all such photos I have taken in Oregon — including one photo from out of state when I visited Chelan, Washington in 2012. In this way, no matter which albums such photos are in, or what year they were taken, they will all be found in here.

An important exception is all the photos I have taken at McMenamins venues. Because my McMenamins Passport adventure had resulted in such an abundance of pictures, I have chosen to remove them from this collection and put them in their own McMenamins Pub Crawl (All Years) conglomerate “super-album.”

As each new year rolls by, relevant photos from that year will automatically be added to this album. For further details about the story behind the photos in this album, see the related article, Breweries and Pubs in Portland and Beyond.
The photos in this album were taken with the  Olympus OM-D E-M5  and  Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS50  cameras.
