November is the season of gorgeous autumn leaves. A couple of weeks ago the trees in our neighborhood were exploding with vibrant yellows, oranges and reds. One day, when going on my daily walk, I took my camera with me to record this lavish display of nature. You can see the results in this Albany Autumn 2010 photo album.
I'm glad that I took these photos when I did, because soon after things deteriorated rapidly. Today, the trees are mostly bare, with heaps of dead, faded leaves scattered on the ground around them. Radiant autumn has quickly tarnished into dreary autumn, the undeniable evidence of winter's inexorable approach. Good thing we enjoy Oregon weather!
