In July my daughter Olivia entered photos in five of the eighteen photo-contest categories at the Linn County Fair
Oregon. And because she is now thirteen, she had to move up to the Teen level, which I would assume would have more and harder competition. In fact she had some really stiff competition from an older teen who had an article written about her in the local newspaper.
Olivia ended up winning four first-place awards and one second-place. She seems to be following in the footsteps of her ancestors. Her great-grandfather was winning awards
way back in the 1930s. Earlier in the current decade, I, her father, was winning awards
All told, Olivia won $40 worth of prizes at the fair! Although I gave up entering photo competitions after getting burned out a few of years ago,
nevertheless, I can still take pride and pleasure in her successes — after all, I am
her dad! Congratulations Olivia!
