While on our January 2015 trip to the California Central Coast,
our planned long walk at Jalama Beach
was thwarted by the high tide. Therefore, after only a short time we left the coast and returned to Lompoc
for a quick tour of the historic La Purisima Mission.
Next we headed back to the coast, west instead of southwest as before, to the Santa Ynez River estuary
at Ocean Beach Park
/ Surf Beach.
A moderately short walk brought us to the sea shore, where our thirteen-year-old daughter Olivia had a lot of fun jumping and splashing in the surf. In order to capture the action, I set my camera
to a low-speed (four shots per second) burst mode.
This resulted in some really exciting and interesting photos!
Out of the 181 pictures I took during our short 25-minute jaunt, 35 of the best shots — which includes nine close-up crops
— have made it into this album.
