It is rare for me to split an established photo album into two separate ones, but in this case I think it was absolutely necessary!
The first thirty images in this album were originally found in the Neighborhood 2014
collection. But by mid-July its sixty-six photos were a fairly-even mixture of photos I had taken around the neighborhood as well as photos which I had taken at home. It made sense to keep them all together — after all, my house IS in my neighborhood!
However, since Neighborhood 2014
was starting to get somewhat on the large side, and because I was starting to have quite a number of compelling shots taken at home, I decided that all of those photos — taken either inside the house or somewhere outside on my property — deserved their own album.
Thus was conceived this new Homemade Images 2014
collection. On the day of its birth it contained 30 photos, with 36 remaining in Neighborhood 2014.
It will be interesting to see how many pictures are in each album at the end of the year!
Even if I didn't take pictures anywhere else in Oregon this year, just these shots — taken at home — would in and of themselves make 2014 a decent photographic year! It just goes to show that you don't have to travel long distances or spends lots of money to have fun with photography and get satisfying results!
