During the past four years I have made five trips, at various times of the year, to the nearby William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge:
May and September 2011, July 2012 and 2013, and most recently, April 2014.
At 5,325 acres and with more than 12 miles of hiking trails, there are numerous different areas where one can walk. On each outing I have taken a different path, each time discovering a new aspect of the Refuge. In addition, each seasons features its own flora and fauna. Therefore, on each outing there has always been something unique to discover.
A piece of photography advice that I've heard many times is that you should visit the same location over and over, experiencing it during different weather, times of day, and seasons. This approach will help develop your artistic eye, and force you to look beyond the surface to the deeper qualities of the place.
So after taking pictures at Finley Refuge on five different outings, I've ended up with four separate albums of photos, which can make it hard to get the big picture (sorry!). Therefore, I've made this special album which collects all of the photos from all of the Finley Refuge albums, and presents them a single, complete, conglomerate "super-album."
