This is my third year of photographically exploring Finley National Wildlife Refuge,
south of Corvallis.
At 5,325 acres and with more than 12 miles of hiking trails, there are numerous different areas where one can walk.
For this, my fourth photo outing, I parked near the Fiechter House
around sunrise. From there, I took the Homer Campbell Boardwalk through a patch of forest, and then walked along the dirt road around the east and south sides of Cabell Marsh.
I continued south and west along the road until I arrived at the Refuge Office and Nature Store building. From there I followed the main road through the Refuge back to my truck, completing a 4.3 mile (7km) photo hike. I was very glad that I took this hike in the cool hours of the early morning, before the heat of the day starts its oppression!
Out of the 94 pictures I took during the few hours I was at Finley, 19 of them are presented here. Photos from previous outings can be found in the Finley Refuge 2011
and Finley Refuge 2012
albums. You can also see the pictures in all of my Finley Refuge photo albums gathered into one place in the conglomerate Finley Refuge (All Years)
