In the middle of September, I spent the weekend by myself in Tillamook,
Oregon. After all of the family activities this year, I was ready to "get away from it all" and enjoy some silence and solitude in Tillamook — a area which has haunted my memory since we first visited there a year ago in August 2007.
After about a three-hour drive I arrived in the beautiful Tillamook Valley, where cows outnumber people 5 to 1 — this is quite evident when you open the car door and take your first whiff of the "fresh country air!" For the next couple of days I explored the area, experiencing the seashore, an inland waterfall, great restaurants, and even some Tillamook Mudslide
at the Tillamook Cheese Factory.
All in all it was a memorable visit to one of my favorite parts of Oregon.
