After a 420-mile drive to Chelan,
Washington, and then a four-hour, fifty-mile boat trip on the Lady of the Lake,
I finally arrived at my final destination: Stehekin.
In and around this remote and isolated village — accessible only by boat, seaplane, horse or hiking — I spent just over 72 hours: two full days, two half days, and three nights.
I have already written quite a bit about my adventures there, so I won't repeat it here. You can get all the details by checking out the following blog articles:
For beautiful photos of the scenery around Lake Chelan from Chelan to Stehekin, don't miss these two albums:
And there are two more albums of pictures I took during day hikes in the Stehekin Valley area:
I took more than 380 pictures in Stehekin and the adjacent valley, which I have distilled down to the best 100 for this album. My relatively long stay there, combined with the gorgeous scenery and an abundance of things to see, accounts for the larger-than-normal size of this collection.
